Antoinette Selvey-Maddox - board co-chair

Antoinette Selvey-Maddox has been a member of the Avondale Board of Trustees since 2018.

Ms. Selvey-Maddox spent more than 30 years at the City of Cincinnati – including nearly two decades in senior management – proactively facilitating and sustaining the highest quality urban environments. She led planning and policy, regulation, business and urban development in the departments of City Planning, Economic Development, Community Development and Planning, and the Office of the City Manager.

Since retiring from the City in 2005, Ms. Selvey-Maddox has continued to enhance Cincinnati neighborhoods. She has served as Vice Chair for the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Transportation Review Advisory Council (TRAC); a member of the City of Cincinnati’s City Planning Commission; and is currently an Economic Development Committee member of the Hamilton County Development Company. As a consultant, Ms. Selvey-Maddox served as senior management advisor for Management Partners, a national consulting firm, providing development reviews to local and county governments and completing projects in Florida, Indiana and Maryland. She continues to support small businesses by preparing business plans and marketing strategies, clarifying visions and missions, basic budgeting and employee growth.

Ms. Selvey-Maddox earned her BA from Millikin University and Master of Community Planning from the University of Cincinnati. Her numerous professional awards, honors and memberships include the American Planning Association, Citizen Ambassador – Housing Delegation to the People’s Republic of China, American Institute of Certified Planners, Federal Home Loan Bank Housing Advisory Council, National Association of Development Council, National Forum for Black Public Administrators, Urban Land Institute and the University of Cincinnati School of Planning.

Ms. Selvey-Maddox’s passions include family, medication, dancing, community development and service.
