DR. Belinda Tubbs-Wallace - Cincinnati public schools

Dr. Belinda Tubbs-Wallace has been a member of the Avondale Board of Trustees since 2014.

Dr. Tubbs-Wallace is an administrator working with Cincinnati Public Schools, and former principal of Avondale’s Rockdale Elementary, serving from 2013-2020. During her tenure at Rockdale, she was recognized with the Administrator of the Year award for her overall impact on the school. She has also been recognized for increasing the performance index and achieving a gap closing grade of C.

Over her 20-plus year career in education, Dr. Tubbs-Wallace has held various positions at Woodward Career Technical High School, Aiken College and Career High School (her alma mater) and Western Hills Design Technical High School. She has also served as the softball coach, volleyball coach, debate team leader and many other school extra-curricular activities, and has been a lead teacher for Cincinnati Public Schools for a number of years.

Dr. Tubbs-Wallace has a desire to serve her community. She works closely with her church – Word of Deliverance Ministries for the World – as the college career access resource. She facilitates the annual “college day” for all high school and college graduates. She is also President/Founder of Home Community and School Impact Services – a non-profit organization that works to improve the lives of youth in the community by offering opportunities to thrive educationally, socially, and emotionally - as well as the Sisters’ Youth Organization, a mentoring youth group that bonds healthy minds alike through biblical principles, promoting education and healthy lifestyles. She is also President of the Greater Cincinnati Chapter – Ohio Alliance of Black School Educators.

Dr. Tubbs-Wallace earned her undergraduate degree at Central State University as well as two Master’s degrees – from the University of Dayton and the University of Cincinnati – as well as a high school guidance counselor license. She is a part of the Child Poverty Coalition and profound advocate of the Avondale community.

Dr. Tubbs- Wallace has been married to Mr. Robert “Bo” Wallace for 24 years. They have 2 children.
